With the Blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion, of Winnipeg and the Central Eparchy, Metropolitan of the UOCC, a Clergy Retreat was held in the Western Eparchy.

The retreat commenced at the Star of the North Retreat Centre in St. Albert, AB, with a time of theological reflection, prayers from the daily cycle of services offered in the retreat centre chapel, the sharing of common experiences and concerns among the parishes of the Western Eparchy, and the strengthening of the bonds of love and unity among the clergy present and their Primate. The retreat culminated with the celebration of the Hierarchal Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts on Wednesday, April 17, at St. John’s Cathedral in Edmonton. His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion was assisted by the clergy of the Western Eparchy of the UOCC.

At this Liturgy, Archpriest Mykhaylo Pozdyk of The Ukrainian Orthodox Parish of St. Mary, in Surrey, British Columbia, was awarded the Palytsia/Epigonation by His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion.
