On Thursday, September 22, 2022, The coffin of Metropolitan John was brought to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Saskatoon, SK. He was carried into the church by the clergy who Metropolitan John ordained through the years of his episcopal service.  Metropolitan Ilarion and Bishop Andriy along with clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada served the funeral service for a hierarch at the funeral praying for the repose of the soul of Metropolitan John in the presence of his extended family and the flock whom he cared so much for.
