Greeting to Fr. Victor Lakusta on Pascha

A special greeting on Pascha, 2017 [from the current Chancellor to the immediate “past-Chancellor:”]

On the Great and Most Glorious Feast-Day of Pascha, 2017 – falling on April 16 (a date which has not “seen” Pascha since 1941,) it is a great honour, privilege and blessing for me to be able to draw attention to an unprecedented event in the life of our beloved UOCC.

Exactly fifty years ago, to the date, on April 16, 1967, Vladyka Mytropolit +Ilarion of thrice-blessed memory ordained Fr. Deacon Victor Lakusta to the Holy Priesthood.

Fifty years later we are granted the opportunity to celebrate the “feast of ALL feasts” on this day that is additionally obviously very special and meaningful to you, Fr. Victor, to you Dobr. Marilyn, and to you whole family, as well as to our whole Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, the vineyard in which you have so faithfully served over so many years.

I express my gratitude to God for the opportunity to acknowledge this date, and this event. I express my gratitude especially to you, otche Victore from the “chair” in which I now serve – a “chair” that you served in, and have now been a most gracious help and assistance to me and in turn continuing service to the UOCC. I further express my gratitude for your service in many other capacities, and your continuing to do so in your “home eparchy” now – the Western Eparchy, in Edmonton and area beyond.

I invite all of our brother-clergy, led by our Primate, His Eminence Metropolitan Yurij, and our hierarchs, their Graces Bishops Ilarion and Andriy, to join with me in praying that God Grant you, and your whole family many more Blessed Years!!!
