ДАВ ВЛАДУ СТАТИ ДІТЬМИ БОЖИМИ!

Учудове таїнственне сузірря Пасхи проголошуємо Євангелію від Івана. Вона нам подає чудові відкриття про те, чим для нас є Христове Воскресення. Вона показує зв’язок між нашою волею, вірою та Божою силою.

Св. Євангелист Іван заявляє, що всі, котрі прийняли Христа й увірували в ім’я Його від Нього одержали владу стати дітьми Божими (Івана 1:12). А що це таке: стати дитиною Божою? Це – стати подібним до Бога! Діти стають подібними до своїх батьків, зокрема якщо вони їх люблять та поважають. Що це таке для людини стати подібною до Бога? Відповідь знаходимо в тому, Ким є Ісуса Христос.

Ісус – Мужчина сильний але й ніжний. Він надзвичайно ласкавий але також рішучий і безкопромісовий проти зла. Він – Людина любові та істини. У Нього безмежне милосердя та співчутливість; Він звільнює людей від усього того, що перешкоджає їм стати тим, для чого Бог їх створив. Сам абсолютно чистий від зла.

Ось такою людиною стає й дитина Божа. Ось такими ми покликані бути. Чи такі ми? Говорячи чесно ми повинні сказати, що ні. Але ми можемо стати такими! Ісус дає владу для цього – усім, тим хто дійсно вірує та вповає на Нього. Чи ж дійсно так просто воно? Так! Воно разом і так просто і так складно.

Від нас вимагається зусилля: вірити! Говорімо чесно – у світі багато такого, що утруднює віру. Навіть у нас самих є щось таки, що час від часу бунтується проти віри. Дехто зовсім здається і стає циніком. Якщо ми хочемо одержати Божу силу стати Його дітьми, то ми мусимо ще раз і ще раз рішати: ВІРИТИ! Потрібно послідовного зусилля нашої волі – не раз і не два, а безліч разів.

Кожного разу коли ми переходимо випробовування ми маємо смиренно з молитвою вдаватися до Господа Ісуса по ту мудрість і силу, яких Він нам пообіцяв. Та добра вістка, яку стверджують мільйони вірних впродовж віків така: Він дійсно допомагає нам. Це – поміч, яка завжди вистарчальна. Він її посилає нам щодня, щогодини, щохвилини. Не піддаваймось розпуці через те, що це процес, котрий триває так довго. Немає нічого дивного в тому, що нас часами тягне – дуже! – до неправди та невірности. Але й нормальним є для тих, що стають дітьми Божими, боротися проти цих спокус і далі таки намагатися разом з нашими братами й сестрами проявляти в собі властивості Отця Небесного.

На останку процес цей таки принесе вирішальні й тривалі наслідки (постійно ж бувають корисні наслідки таких зусиль). Одного дня наша планета цілком ублаготвориться проявленням усіх Божих дітей. І вони – тобто й ми – житимемо в радості вічній та любові зо всіма нашими братами й сестрами та зі Спасителем, Якому ми послужили вірно й чесночистим та смиренним серцем. Так і буде!

 

THE POWER TO BECOME GOD’S CHILDREN

During the lovely, mystical Paschal dawn as the Gospel of John is proclaimed we are offered wonderful insights about what Christ’s Resurrection means to us. One of them deals with the link between our will, faith and Divine power.

John proclaims that to all who received Christ and believed in His name: “He gave power to become children of God” (John 1:12). What does it mean to become a child of God? Why, it means to become like God. Children become like their parents especially if they love and respect them. What is it for a human being to become like God? The answer to that is found in the Person of Jesus.

Jesus was a Man who was strong, yet gentle. He was immensely kind, and yet forceful and uncompromising in opposing evil. He was loving and truthful. He was full of compassion and helped people to freedom from those things which prevented their unfolding to the potential which God created them to achieve. He was completely free of evil Himself.

This is the sort of person a child of God becomes. This is the sort of people we are called to become. Are we like that? To be honest, we have to say: “Not yet”. But we can be like that. Jesus gives the power for this to all who believe and trust in Him. Is it really that simple? Yes, and also that difficult.

We must make the effort of choosing to believe. Lets be honest about it: there is a lot in this world that makes it difficult to believe. There is even something within each of us that rebels against faith from time to time. Some people give up and become cynics. If we wish to receive God’s power to make us His children we must choose again and again to believe! It takes a repeated act of our will.

Each time we are tested, we must humbly and prayerfully come to Jesus and ask for the wisdom and power He has promised us. The good news, attested to by millions throughout the ages, is that He does indeed help us. It is a help that is sufficient for all time. It is given day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. Let us not despair because the process seems to be taking so long to achieve. It is not unusual to sometimes feel drawn towards falsehood and unfaithfulness. But it is also normal for those who are becoming God’s children to resist these temptations and keep on striving together with our brothers and sisters to reflect the character of our Father in Heaven.

At long last the process will bring striking results (although there are results all along). The world will be blessed by the revealing of all of God’s children. And they – we! -shall dwell in joy forever with all our brothers and sisters and the Saviour Whom we shall have served faithfully, with a pure and humble heart.

 

POUVOIR DE DEVENIR ENFANTS DE DIEU

Pendant l’aube mystique et belle de Pâques, nous écoutons la proclamation de l’Évangile selon saint Jean. Il s’agit d’un enseignement merveilleux sur la signification de la Résurrection de Jésus. Une telle révélation montre le lien entre notre volonté, la foi et le pouvoir divin.

Jean annonce que tous qui ont reçu Christ et qui ont cru en Son nom: “Il a donné pouvoir de devenir enfants de Dieu” (Jean 1:12). Mais qu’est-ce qu’un enfant de Dieu? C’est quelqu’un qui se ressemble à Dieu. Les enfants deviennent comme leurs parents quand ils les aiment et quand ils les respectent. Comment sera un humain qui devient comme Dieu? Nous trouvons la réponse dans la Personne de Jésus.

Jésus était un Homme fort et doux en même temps. Il était pleinement bon mais aussi puissant et sans compromis dans Son opposition au mal. Il était plein d’amour et de vérité. Il était miséricordieux. Il aidait les gens de se libérer de tout ce qui les a empêché leur accomplissement du potentiel pour lequel Dieu les a créés. Il était complètement libre du mal Lui-Même.

Voilà un enfant de Dieu! Nous sommes appelés à devenir comme ça. Sommes-nous comme ça? Nous devons vraiment dire: “Pas encore”. Mais nous pouvons en devenir! Jésus donne le pouvoir de l’accomplir à tous ceux qui fient en Lui. Est-ce que c’est vraiment si simple? Mais oui, et aussi si dur.

Nous devons faire l’effort de choisir à croire. Soyons honnêtes: il y a beaucoup dans le monde que fait la croyance difficile. Il y a même quelque chose dans chacun de nous qui révolte contre la foi. Il y en a ceux qui se rendent au désespoir et qui deviennent cyniques. Si nous voulons recevoir le pouvoir divin de devenir enfants de Dieu nous devons choisir encore et encore à croire! Ça prend une action répétitive de notre volonté!

A chaque fois que nous subissons la tentation nous devons venir à Jésus avec prières et humilité en demandant la sagesse et le pouvoir qu’Il nous a promis. Les bonnes nouvelles lesquelles ont trouvées des millions de gens pendant les siècles disent que vraiment Il nous aide. Et c’est un appui qui est suffisant pour toujours. Il nous est donné chaque jour, chaque heure, chaque minute. Ne soyons pas en désespoir parce que le processus prend beaucoup de temps à se réaliser. Il n’est pas étrange que de fois nous soyons attirés par le mensonge et l’infidélité. Mais il est aussi normal pour ceux qui deviennent enfants de Dieu de résister ces tentations et de continuer de lutter ensemble avec nos frères et nos soeurs de refléter le caractère de notre Père Qui est au cieux.

Enfin, le processus donnera des résultats frappants (il y en des résultat toujours). Le monde verra la bénédiction de la révélation de tous les enfants de Dieu. Et nous vivrons en joie à jamais avec tous nos frères et nos sœurs et le Sauveur que nous aurions servi fidèlement avec un cœur pur et humble. Oui, vraiment ainsi soit-il!
