On Saturday, August 23, 2025, on the Apodosis of the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Metropolitan Ilarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition in the town of Kremasti, on the island of Rhodes, Greece. Concelebrants at this tris-hierarchical Liturgy were the Metropolitan Savvas of Nouvia, currently Soudan, (Patriarchate of Alexandria) and Bishop Cyril of Olympus, auxiliary bishop of the Holy Metropolis of Rhodes (Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople). Metropolitan Cyril of Rhodes (Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople) was also present in prayer at the Holy Altar. The hierarchs were assisted by over ten archimandrites and presbyters and by two deacons . His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion gave his inspiring homily in the Greek language. The Divine Liturgy was attended by more than one thousand faithful and pilgrims who came to venerate the miraculous Holy Icon of the Theotokos (15th century A.D.). At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Ilarion led the procession of the Holy Icon around the streets of the town. The icon was carried reverently by a select squad of the Greek army.
