In October, 2024, with the Blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion, the Western Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada undertook the process of organizing a Pilgrimage to Constantinople. By the Grace of God, this pilgrimage is set to take place in May of 2026. The Pilgrims will depart from Canada on Sunday, May 3, 2026 and arrive in Thessaloniki, Greece on Monday, May 4, 2026. After spending 4 days in Thessaloniki visiting the Holy places in and around the city, the Pilgrims will travel to Constantinople to be present for the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy on the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman (May 10, 2026). The following 4 days will be spent in and around Constantinople visiting the Phanar, the Centre of Holy Orthodoxy, as well as other significant and Holy sites for Orthodox Christians.
With the Blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion, this Pilgrimage is open to members from all three Eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada. Those desiring to apply to participate in this Pilgrimage are instructed to send an email to [email protected], indicating their name, their parish affiliation and location. Since it is expected that there will be several different points of departure for the Pilgrims, the exact cost of the pilgrimage will be directly communicated to each successful pilgrimage applicant.
