The faithful of St. Elia Parish in Edmonton were honoured to welcome His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion, who presided at the Divine Liturgy on St. Thomas Sunday. Clergy and faithful from the surrounding area gathered in prayer as the Church continued to rejoice in the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and reflect on the Gospel account of the Holy Apostle Thomas.

St. Thomas Sunday, observed on the second Sunday of Pascha, reminds us of the journey from doubt to faith, as the Apostle Thomas comes to confess the Risen Christ, proclaiming: “My Lord and my God!” This sacred day offered an opportunity for all present to deepen their faith in the Resurrection and to rejoice in the abiding presence of Christ in His Church.

Following the Divine Liturgy, the traditional “Spilne Sviachene” was held.
