Різдвяне Послання Єпископату Української Православної Церкви Канади у 2022 – 2023 році Божому
Всечесному Духовенству, в Христі Дияконству, і всім вірним УПЦК
Христос Рождається!
З ласки Божої, ми знову сподобились святкувати і у цьому 2023 році великий празник нашої віри – Різдво Господа і Спаса нашого Ісуса Христа і Ангели знову співають : «Слава Богу на висоті, і на землі мир, в людях благовоління» ( Лк 2:14).
Наші серця переповнені великою духовною радістю, «яка не бувала», бо людство , яке було в темряві гріха, смерті і відчаю, сьогодні отримало Спасителя, отримало сповнення старозавітних пророцтв про Месію, небо примиряється з землею, людина з Богом через народження Сина Божого, « небо і земля нині торжествує, Ангели і люди весело празнують».
Та на жаль не всі у цьому світі славлять Бога, ні словами , ні своїми ділами, не потребують Бога у своєму житті, деякі сумніваються, що Бог існує, інші навіть вважають, що якби Бог існував, то таке зло не творилось у світі. Але зло у цьому світі не від Бога. Господь наш Ісус Христос з великої любові « до нас людей і ради нашого спасіння зійшов з небес і воплотився від Духа Святого і Марії Діви і став чоловіком» (Символ Віри), щоб постраждати, бути розп’ятим і воскреснути, щоб перемогти зло, гріх і смерть, дарувати вічне життя мир всім хто в Нього вірить і виконує Його заповіді.
Та на жаль Ангельське сповіщання – « і на землі мир» не хочуть чути сили зла на землі, як не чув цар Ірод в часи народження Спасителя на землі більше 2000 років тому. 24 лютого 2022 року розпочалася безбожна і диявольська війна Російської Федерації проти багатостраждальної матері нашої України. Українська армія героїчно захищає свій народ і рідну землю від жорстокого агресора. Російський окупант приносить страждання, плач, біль, звіряче насильство, терор і смерті, знищуючи інфраструктуру держави, обрікаючи мільйони людей на темноту і холод.
Наш Спаситель народився не в царських палатах, не в комфорті і теплі, але в печері між тваринами, між людьми йому не найшлося місця, бо ніхто не прийняв в дім Діву Марію і праведного Йосипа і в готелі не найшлося їм місця, коли вони подорожували до Віфлеєму згідно наказу царя Августа про перепис населення. Тільки народився маленький Ісус цар Ірод вже бачив в Ньому небезпеку для свого царювання і наказав вбивати всіх немовлят до двох років, що вимусило Діву Марію і з праведним Йосипом і маленьким Ісусом втікати в безпечне місце до Єгипту. Терпіння, переслідування, страждання і небезпеки з перших днів приходу на світ чекали нашого Спасителя ще Новонародженим Дитятком, він стає біженцем з рідної землі, а Хрест і розп’яття чекали його в кінці Його земного життя.
Ми особливо молимося до Новонародженого Спасителя, який багато перетерпів за всіх нас, за невинних, мирних жертв страшних обстрілів і бомбардувань і біженців , сотні тисяч родин з дітьми, які покинули українську землю через смертельну небезпеку від сучасних Іродів, які вбивають невинних дітей чи можуть вбити. Багато з них, як маленький Ісус найшов прихисток від небезпеки смерті в Єгипті, найшли прихисток на гостинній канадській землі.
Дорогі отці, браття і сестри,
Ми закликаємо вас гостинно відкрити двері наших церковних родин, надавати всю необхідну духовну і матеріальну допомогу потребуючим біженцям з України, особливо родинам з дітьми в нашій святій Українській Православній Церкві Канади.
Ми палко молимося, щоб Всемилостивий Господь вислухав наші молитви і заступництвом Своєї Матері дарував мир Україні і перемогу над ворогами. Зло ніколи не переможе добро, темнота не переможе світло, а гріх ніколи не переможе святість, а смерть ніколи не переможе життя, тому що народився Спаситель, який є джерелом життя і безсмертя, який переміг пекло і його сили.
Нехай Новонароджений Господь ниспошле всім вам дар терпеливості та витривалості, укріпить всіх вас нести нас земний хрест, щоб ми подолали всі перешкоди і біди.
Ще раз вітаємо вас з великим празником Різдва Христового і молитовно бажаємо, щоб мир оспіваний Ангелами на Різдво ( Лк 2:14) запанував в ваших душах і серцях , в наших церковних родинах , в Україні і по усьому світі.

Nativity Epistle from the Episcopate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada in the year of our Lord, 2022-2023
To the All-Honorable Clergy, to the Diaconate in Christ, and to all the faithful of the UOCC:
CHRIST IS BORN!
By the grace of God, we are able again this year in 2023, to celebrate the great feast of our faith – the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Again the Angels sing: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will among men.(Lk 2:14 ).
Our hearts are filled with great spiritual joy, “which has never happened,” because humanity, which was in the darkness of sin, death and despair, today receives a Savior, and completes the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. Heaven is reconciled with earth and man with God through the birth of the Son of God, “heaven and earth are now triumphant, Angels and people are joyfully celebrating.”
Unfortunately, not everyone in this world glorifies God, neither with words nor with deeds. They do not need God in their lives; some doubt that God exists; others even believe that if God existed, such evil would not be happening in the world.
But the evil in this world is not from God. Out of great love, our Lord Jesus Christ “for us and for our salvation came down from the heavens and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became a man” (Symbol of Faith) to suffer, to be crucified and to be resurrected, to defeat evil, sin and death, and to grant eternal life and peace to all who believe in Him and obey His commandments.
Unfortunately, the forces of evil on earth do not want to hear the Angel’s announcement of “ peace on earth” and do not want to acknowledge what the Angels proclaimed, just as King Herod did not hear the announcement at the time of the Savior’s birth on earth more than 2,000 years ago. On February 24, 2022, the ungodly and diabolical war of the Russian Federation against the long-suffering mother country, Ukraine, began. The Ukrainian army heroically defends its people and native land from the cruel aggressor. The Russian occupier brings suffering, crying, pain, brutal violence, terror and death, destroys the state’s infrastructure, and condemns millions of people to darkness and cold.
Our Savior was not born in royal palaces, not in comfort and warmth, not among people, but in a cave among animals because there was no place for Him. When the Virgin Mary and the righteous Joseph traveled to Bethlehem to fulfill the population census ordered by King Augustus, no one welcomed them into their house, and there was no room for them in the inn.
As soon as little Jesus was born, King Herod already saw Him a threat to his reign and ordered all babies under the age of two to be killed. This forced the Virgin Mary and the righteous Joseph and little Jesus to flee to a safe place in Egypt.
Patience, persecution, suffering and danger awaited our Savior from the first days of His birth as a newborn baby. He becomes a refugee from His native land. The Cross and crucifixion await Him at the end of His earthly life.
We especially pray to the New-born Savior, who suffered greatly for all of us. We pray for the innocent, peaceful victims of the terrible shelling and bombing and the many refugees, for hundreds of thousands of families with children who have left the Ukrainian land because of mortal danger from modern Herods who kill or may kill innocent children. Many of them, just as the little Jesus found refuge from the danger of death in Egypt, now find refuge in the hospitable land of Canada.
Dear fathers, brothers and sisters,
We call on you to hospitably open the doors of our Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada parish families to provide all the necessary spiritual and material assistance to needy refugees from Ukraine, especially to the families with children.
We fervently pray that the All-Merciful Lord will hear our prayers and, through the intercession of His Mother, grant peace to Ukraine and victory over the enemies. Evil will never overcome good, darkness will never overcome light, sin will never overcome holiness, and death will never overcome life, because a Savior is born, who is the source of life and immortality, and defeats hell and its powers.
May the New-born Lord grant all of us the gift of patience and endurance, and strengthen all of us to carry our earthly cross, so that we can overcome all obstacles and troubles.
Once again, we greet you on the great Feast of the Nativity and pray that the peace sung by the Angels at Christmas (Lk 2:14) reigns in your souls and hearts, in our Church families, in Ukraine, and throughout the world.
