ЧУДОВА НЕСПОДІВАНКА

Сьогодні ми є свідки зустрічі між Господом Ісусом Христом і самарянкою. Прочитаймо про це в Євангелії від Івана в розділі 4-му, вірші 5 до 42. Завважмо, що це була за чудовою несподіванкою для цієї жінки, яку Христова громада знає під ім’ям Світлана, тобто “повна світла”.

Чи думала самарянка, коли вона виходила з дому принести води, що щось подібне станеться? Напевно ні. І ми теж не знаємо, коли ми виходимо зі свого дому, що там десь на нас чекає. Але це Господній світ і ми можемо бути певними, що ми ЙОГО в ньому знайдемо в різних обставинах та подіях.

Може це буде в обличчі когось, що зробить нам якусь прислугу. Може це буде хтось такий, що відкриє нам двері, або послужить нам у крамниці. А можливо буде це хтось такий, що потребуватиме чогось, що ми можемо йому чи її дати чи зробити. Можливо це буде щось не дуже таке приємне. Може хтось поставить нам якийсь виклик. Коли самарянка зустрілася з Ісусом, то були деякі хвилини, які могли для неї бути важкими перенести, коли Він заговорив про сумний стан її супружих відносин.

Але ж бачимо, яка вона смиренна, яка готова послухати та бути чесною перед Ісусом! Вона Йому поставила важкі питання і не була ображена, коли й Він заторкнув болючі справи. На останку вона знайшла ту радісну несподіванку: вона в серці повірила, що вона ось розмовляє з Божим Помазаником, на Якого жде цілий світ!

Вона була така рада, така піднесена, що вона зуміла запалити й своїх сусідів. Вона розбудила їхні заспані серця і вони також пішли зустріти Того, що дає такі несподіванки. Шукаймо Його й ми в своєму щоденному житті – сьогодні! Він поміж нас був, є і буде!

 

THE WONDERFUL SURPRISE

Today we are witnesses of the meeting between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. Read about it in the Gospel according to John, chapter 4, verses 5 to 42. Notice what a splendid surprise it turned out to be for this woman which the Christian community knows as Svitlana or Photina, that is “full of light” (in Latin it would be:”Lucia”).

Did she think as she was leaving her home to get some water that such a thing would happen? Most certainly not. Neither do we know, when we leave our home, what awaits us out there. But this is the Lord’s world and we can be sure that we will find HIM out there in various situations and circumstances.

Perhaps it will be in the face of someone who does some service for us. Perhaps someone who opens a door for us or serves us in a store. Or perhaps it will someone who will need something that we can give or do for him or her. Or, less agreeable, someone who challenges us in some way. When the Samaritan woman met Jesus there were some moments that she may have found difficult when we spoke of the sad state of her conjugal relations.

But see how humble she was, how open to the communication and willing to be honest with Jesus! She asked him some important questions and was not hurt when He spoke to her of painful things. Finally she found a joyous surprise in her heart: the faith that she was talking with God’s special Messenger for Whom everyone is waiting.

She was so happy and so excited that she was able to share it with her neighbours. She woke up their sleepy hearts and they too went to meet the Giver of surprises. Let us look for Him in our daily lives – today! He is there!

 

LA MERVEILLEUSE SURPRISE

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes témoins de la rencontre de Jésus avec la Samaritaine. Lisons l’Évangile selon Saint Jean chapitre 4, versets 5 à 42. Trouvons comment cette rencontre a été une bonne surprise pour cette femme que la communauté chrétienne connaît comme Svitlana ou Photina, c’est à dire “pleine du lumière” (en latin nous pouvons dire “Lucia”).

Est-ce qu’elle a pensé quand elle est sortie pour apporter de l’eau à sa maison qu’une telle surprise l’attendait? Non, certainement pas. Nous aussi ne savons pas quand nous sortons de notre maison ce qui nous attend. Mais c’est le monde du Seigneur et il est certain que nous allons LE rencontrer dans des circonstances diverses.

Peut-être que ce sera dans le visage de quelqu’un qui nous fera quelque chose de bien. Quelqu’un qui nous ouvrira la porte, ou nous servira au magasin. Ou peut-être que ce sera quelqu’un que nous verrons qui aura besoin de quelque chose que nous pourrons lui donner ou faire. Ou même quelque chose de beaucoup moins agréable: quelqu’un qui va nous donner un défi. Pendant la rencontre entre Jésus et la samaritaine il y eut des moments qu’elle pouvait trouver difficile quand Il a mentionné l’état triste de ses relations conjugales.

Mais voyons comment elle a été ouverte, humble, prête à être honnête devant Lui. Elle Lui a posé des questions importantes. Elle n’a pas été déçue quand Il a parlé des sujets douloureux. Enfin, elle a trouvé le don de foi au fonds de son coeur et elle a réalisé qu’elle parlait avec le Messager de Dieu attendu.

Et elle a été tellement contente, tellement excitée qu’elle a réveillé les coeurs somnolents de ses voisins et eux aussi ont rencontré Celui Qui nous donne toujours de bonnes surprises. Cherchons-Le dans notre vie quotidienne – maintenant, aujourd’hui. Il est là!
