10-го травня 1998. Четверта Неділя після Пасхи, про Розслабленого

Роздумування про Слово Боже: УСТАВАЙ, І ПОСТЕЛИ СОБІ САМ!

У сьогоднішньому Апостолі ми читаємо про вздоровлення Енея, що лежав зпаралізованим вісім років. Петро йому сказав: “Енею, тебе вздоровляє Ісус Христос. Уставай, і постели собі сам!”

Прислухаймось до цих слів. Вони вказузують на щось дуже важливе в нашому духовному житті. Коли Отець Всемогутній прийняв нас за Своїх дітей в Христі Ісусі (а ми всі ними й були через те, що Він нас створив), то Він дав нам надзвичайну честь. Ось як це висловив Господь наш Ісус Христос: “І коли що просити ви будете в Імення Моє, те вчиню, щоб у Сині прославився Отець. Коли будете в Мене просити чого в Моє Ймення, то вчиню” (Івана 14:13-14).

Що за обітниця! Петро повернув Енеєві силу ходити і стелити своє ліжко, вживаючи цей скарб, якого ми всі вспадкували від Господа нашого. А Ісус пошанував його віру подаючи те вздоровлення, якого він був просив. Але Він чогось попросив і в Енея.

Петро і його Владика, Ісус, попросили Енея зробити щось, щоб висловити віру, що він одержав Божий дар. Еней мусів постелити своє ліжко. До того часу він не міг цього робити. А від тепер усе мало бути інакше. Він вже все буде робити сам для себе. Але треба було розпочати відразу.

Чи ми чогось просили в Ісуса? Дуже можливо, що Він уже дав його нам. Діймо в вірі! Поступаймо неначе ми вже маємо те, чого просимо й побачимо, що станеться. Не допускаймо, щоб наш страх і наша лінь перешкоджали нам втішатися Господньою ласкою. Вставаймо й постелімо своє ліжко!

May 10, 1998. Fourth Sunday after Pascha: the Paralyzed Man

The Word of the Lord: Acts 9:32-42; John 5:1-15.

Meditation on the Lord’s Word: RISE AND MAKE YOUR BED.

In today’s Epistle we read about the healing of a man called Aeneas who had lain paralyzed for eight years. Peter told him: “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed”.

Lets hear these words. They hold an important lesson for our spiritual life. By accepting us as His adopted children in Jesus, our Lord, (we are all His children by virtue of being created by Him as well), our Almighty Father gave us an extraordinary privilege. Jesus put it this way: ” Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:13-14).

What a promise! Peter restored Aeneas’ ability to walk and to make his own bed by using this treasure which we have all inherited from our Lord. And Jesus honoured his faith with the healing that he requested. But He also asked something of Aeneas in return.

Peter and His Master, Jesus, asked Aeneas to do something to express his faith that he had received God’s gift. Aeneas had to make his bed. Until that time he had not been able to. From now on everything would be different. He would do everything like that for himself. But he had to start right away.

Have we asked Jesus for something as well? It is quite possible that He has already given it to us! Lets act in faith. Let us proceed as though we already have what we asked for and see what happens. Lets not let our fear and our laziness keep us from enjoying the Lord’s bounty. Let us rise up and make our own bed!

La Parole de Dieu: Actes 9,32-42; Jean 5,1-15.

Méditation sur la Parole de Dieu: LÈVE-TOI ET FAIS TOI-MÊME TON LIT.

Dans l’Épître d’aujourd’hui nous trouvons l’histoire de la guérison d’Enée, paralysé depuis huit ans. Pierre lui dit: “Enée, Jésus Christ te guérit. Lève-toi et fais toi-même ton lit”.

Ces mots nous montrent quelque chose d’important pour notre vie spirituelle. En nous acceptant comme Ses enfants adoptifs en Jésus (nous en sommes déjà aussi par vertu que c’est Lui Qui nous a créés), le Père tout-puissant nous a accordé un privilège extraordinaire. Jésus l’exprime comme ceci: “Tout ce que vous demanderez en Mon nom, Je le ferai, de sorte que le Père soit glorifié dans le Fils. Si vous Me demandez quelque chose en Mon nom, Je le ferai” (Jean 14,13-14).

C’est extraordinaire, n’est-ce pas, cette promesse? Pierre a donné à Enée la capacité de marcher et de faire lui-même son lit en se servant de ce trésor dont tous nous avons hérité de Notre Seigneur. Et Jésus a répondu avec la guérison demandée. Mais il y a quelque chose qu’Il a demandé à Enée aussi.

Pierre et Son Maître Jésus ont demandé à Enée qu’il fasse quelque chose pour exprimer la foi qu’il reçoit le don de Dieu. En effet Enée devait faire son lit. Jusqu’à ce temps-là il n’a pas été capable de le faire. Mais dès maintenant tout a été changé. Il fera tout par lui-même. Mais il doit commencer tout de suite.

Est-ce que nous avons demandé quelque chose au Seigneur? C’est bien possible qu’Il nous l’ait déjà donné! Agissons dans la foi. Procédons si nous avons ce dont nous avons demandé. Ne laissons pas notre crainte et notre paresse nous empêcher de nous réjouir de la bonté du Seigneur. Levons-nous. Faisons nous-mêmes notre lit!
