ЯК БАЧИТИ?

Минулої неділі ми були свідками зустрічі між Господом Ісусом Христом та жінкою-самарянкою, Світляною. Сьогодні ж така зустріч між Ісусом і чоловіком, що сліпим народився, ім’я якого нам невідоме. Прочитаймо ж про це в Євангелії від Івана, розділ 9-ий, вірші 1 до 38.

Були, як завжди, наслідки цієї зустрічі. Чоловікові подаровано зір – аж двічі. Перше, він почав бачити світ, який навколо його. Що за зворушення! Вперше побачити краски, форми та обличчя! А тоді – ще більше чудо. А саме: одержання духовного зору. Це ж настпуило, коли Господь об’явив йому, що це Він довгожданий Посланець-Помазаник, Світло для світу!

Були й інші наслідки. Чоловіка того відкинули та переслідували. Релігійна провідники показали себе сліпими, хоч могли – і мусіли б – бачити. Вони ніяк не хотіли прийняти очевидне значіння чуда Ісусового а знайшли причину відкинути та осудити і Його і чоловіка, якого Він був уздоровив. Батьки чоловіка теж були засліплені – страхом перед тими сильними цього світу, які Його відкинули.

А як щодо нас, дорогі брати й сестри? Чи й ми не сліпі, коли ми не дивимося на цей світ і на наше життя в ньому у світлі об’явлення даного Господом Ісусом Христом? Якщо ми ще боїмося сильних цього миру та того, що може нам статися в ньому в майбутньому, чи й не ми покищо сліпі?

Господь каже: “Я – Світло для світу.” Так, це ж до Нього маємо ми завжди звертатися, щоб одержати зрозуміння, напрямок та справжню силу жити в спокої, в любові та в перемозі. Він каже нам знову й знову: “Не бійтеся! Тільки віруйте. Я вас люблю і буду з вами повік. Ви – Мої учні, якщо чинити Мою волю, як і Я чиню волю Пославшого Мене Отця. Любіть один одного і так сповнюйте Закон, який є Його волею”. Послухаймо тихого голосу, що промовляє до нас у нашому серці, в нашій совісті. Наш зір залежить від того, чи ми прислухаємося до того Голосу. Послухаймо ж і побачимо!

 

HOW DO I SEE?

Last Sunday we witnessed the meeting between Jesus and a woman – the Samaritan, named Photina (or Lucia). Today there is a meeting between Jesus and a man – a man born blind, whose name we do not know. Read about it in the Gospel according to John, chapter 9, verses 1 to 38.

As always, there are consequences of this meeting. The man receives his sight twice. First he begins to see the world around him. What a shock it must have been. To see colours, shapes, faces for the first time ever! Then came an even greater miracle. The man received his spiritual sight for Jesus revealed to him that He Himself was the long-awaited Divine Messenger, the very Light of the world.

There were other consequences as well. The man came to be rejected and persecuted by his community. The religious authorities showed themselves to be blind even though they could see. They would not accept the meaning of Jesus’ miracle. They found an excuse to reject and condemn Him and the man He had healed. The man’s parents were similarly blinded by fear – the fear of those “powerful people”.

And what about us, brothers and sisters? Are not we also blind when we do not look at this world and our life in it in the light of the revelation of Jesus? If we are still afraid of the powerful of this world and what the future may hold for us?

Jesus says: “I am the Light of the world.” Yes, it is to Him that we must always look to gain understanding, direction and true power to live in peace, love and victory. He tells us again and again: “Don’t be afraid. Only believe. I am with you forever. You are My disciples if you do My will, just as I do the will of the One Who sent Me. Love one another and so fulfil the Law, which is His will”. Let us listen within our souls. Our sight depends on our hearing His voice. Let us hear – and see!

 

QU’EST-CE QUE C’EST VOIR?

Le dimanche auparavant nous avons été témoins de la rencontre entre Jésus et une femme – la Samaritaine. Et aujourd’hui il y a une rencontre entre notre Seigneur et un homme – un aveugle né, dont nous ne savons pas le nom. Lisons l’Évangile selon saint Jean, chapitre 9, versets 1 à 38.

Cette rencontre a des conséquences. L’homme reçoit sa vision deux fois. Premièrement il commence à voir le monde autour de lui. Quelle choque! Voir les couleurs, les formes, les visages pour la première fois! Et après un autre miracle: encore plus grand! L’homme reçoit la vision spirituelle car Jésus lui révèle que c’est Lui le Messager Divin Qui est Lui-Même la Lumière du monde.

D’autres conséquences sont là aussi. Cet homme est rejeté et poursuivi par la communauté. Les autorités religieuses se montrent aveugles même s’ils voient. Ils ne veulent pas comprendre la signification de ce miracle de Jésus. Ils trouvent une justification pour Le rejeter et condamner. Les parents sont rendus aveugles aussi à cause de leur peur devant ces autorités.

Et nous, frères et soeurs, ne sommes-nous pas aussi aveugles si nous ne regardons pas ce monde et notre vie la dedans dans la lumière de la révélation de Jésus? Si nous craignons encore les puissants de ce monde ou ce que portera le futur pour nous?

Jésus dit: “Je suis la Lumiére du monde.” Oui, c’est Lui vers Qui nous devons toujours regarder pour comprendre, pour recevoir la direction et la force de vivre avec paix, amour et victoire. Il nous dit encore et encore: “N’aie pas peur. Seulement crois! Je suis avec vous à jamais. Vous êtes Mes disciples si vous faites Ma volonté, comme Moi, Je fais la volonté de Celui Qui M’a envoyé. Aimez-vous les uns les autres et ainsi accomplissez la Loi, qu’est Sa volonté”. Écoutons. Notre vision est liée avec notre attention à Sa voix. Écoutons et voyons!
