Metropolitan Yuriy Meets with Rev. Dr. Hamilton

Winnipeg, MB April 7: His Eminence, Metropolitan Yurij met with Rev. Dr. Karen Hamilton, General Secretary (Ex.-Officio) of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Council of Churches. Metropolitan Yurij and Rev. Dr. Hamilton met at the Consistory Office to discuss areas of interest of the Canadian Council of Churches dealing with government and social issues. They also discussed matters pertaining to the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy (ICCMC), on which both the Metropolitan Yurij and Rev. Dr. Hamilton sit. The ICCMC provides advice to the Chaplain General, the Ministry of National Defence and supports the Chaplain Branch of Canadian Forces.

Ukrainian Hierarchs Encounter 2011!
The annual Encounter of Ukrainian Catholic and Orthodox Hierarchs of North America met in Clearwater, FL on 27-28 January 2011. The hierarchs have been gathering since 2001 to discuss the issues relevant to their respective dioceses and eparchies and to consider the steps that might be taken to draw the Churches closer together, setting an example for ecclesiastical life in Ukraine.
